Default How to prepare pictures for uploading?

As a frequent visitor and member i tried once to upload a picture to the public.
But anyway, it was rejected. I don't know what was wrong with the picture
or was it just the matter of inacuracy with the rules and picture sizes given
be railpictures.net.
To start a new try i would like to have some help how to fit the raw picture
to the needed and given size for uploading pictures. Are there any software
tools availalable to prepare the raw pictures to the prefered standard?
Give me some help!
Thanks a lot Gerhard Benz

Please tell us a bit more about yourself, first: camera, shooting raw or jpg, software you have, photography experience, post-processing experience. Then we can pitch the answer to the right level.
