Default Is there a picture here

http://www.railpictures.net/viewreje...&key=514989061

I really, really want this picture to get in. I will agree with them the cropping is very tight, but the problem is it's a very tight area, with a railroad, salons and high buildings. It's not exactly a dedicated park, more of a small sliver of land between a street and the San Diego trolly.

I have some less tight crops, but they have more of the streets. I'll post them in a bit.

Here are some crops I have, I also have the option to go back to the location tomorrow and Saturday(assuming the weather holds)

The reason the nose is to tight is that there is a tree and several control boxes for the trolly.

Stop cutting the engine off. If there's something in front of it, deal with that instead of cutting it off.

That big electrical box kills it. Unless you can shoot over that to show the nose, and not include the box, I think you're going to have a hard time getting this one in.

That's a google street view of just what is in front of the engine.

I'm going to go back Saturday and see if there's something I missed.

With the top picture, what if I took a step to the left so you could see Pacific Fruit Express better?

I might bring my point and shoot, since it can get closer than my DSLR.

Lightbulb This is going to be a photo shop job.

Assuming you can get the shadows off the nose, you will need to clone out the electrical box and the trees.

So is that digital manipulation?

It is not putting in anything that is not already there.

Discuss....

I considering taking something permenantly there out worse than putting something in. I'm probably the minority though, in this photoshop yourself to greatness world..

I don't think cloning out the box is against the rules.

It isn't part of the train and it doesn't add anything to the shot.

What about bringing out props to be used in a shot?

They are not out somewhere permanently.

People seem to have very divergent ideas on this stuff which is why I am curious.

Watch the movie "Cool Hand Luke" starring Paul Newman. He gives you a pretty good idea how to get rid of those pesky parking meters.
