1) step back and to the right a bit, put the train closer to the church signs and the latter a little less in the face ???
2) too much brush on the right
3) sounds right
4) not in your face; everything on the left, empty on the right

#1: I would personally crop out those signs, and it is OOF or soft or really heat distorted. I dont know if it's fixable because of this.
#2: shadows and it's a wedge in a tree tunnel. I had one with very similar shadows but in a much more wide open spot, better lit, more photogenic rejected the other day for shadows. I think you will get that next.
#3: I like this one actually. Do you have any more on the right? If not, I would try to crop out the entire street part, level it and just include the ROW composition. This one is definitely fixable.
#4. too much dead space on the right

For number 3, I might. CSX likes to run everything that is through on main 2 (Oddly enough, the track that train is on is actually 2).

What Troy said.
As for those signs, they don't do anything for the image and are not even RR related.

I could have sworn I saw an image on here that had a sign saying a church welcomed you to the town. That's where I got the idea I think.
I'm not luthern btw so I wasn't promoting.

For #4, the key to those NEC high-level platforms is to shoot from the end of the platform, so the train (esp. boring NJT MUs) isn't blocked by the platform and you can use the bridge as a frame.

I tried that, but unfortunately odenton is on a curve and I didn't have enough time to move locations.
I was praying maybe, just maybe, they would run on the middle track but it was two northbound movements on the middle track.
No such luck

Greg....use your photo cropping tool and crop all of them tighter. Crop out the dead space. The church signs on the first one need to go. They don't add anything. The only one a recrop might not work on is the NJ Transit shot. But I think most of these can be saved with some work. Even the NJ Transit train might work if you whack a lot of the dead area to the right.
