In Washington DC during the big 2010 Blizzard of February I made sure I was there ahead of the storm to shoot trains like this.

February 2010 I made sure I was in Washington DC before the huge snow storm that struck in the early part of that month. Here is an Amtrak service plowing through the snow after the storm.

People love storm shots and so do I. I ventured out into a strong / severe thunderstorm last April to catch FEC 107 in the heavy rain. Lightning was hammering all around when I took this shooting from the open window of my Jeep

Amtrak ran a test train on the FEC and FEC's own Dave Shelly drew the lucky assignment of being the pilot engineer, seen waving from the cab in St. Augustine.

Amtrak made an appearance on the FEC and when ever (if and when) Amtrak operates on the FEC regularly the town of Bunnell wants a part of the action. They came out in droves to show Amtrak they want a stop here.

Jennifer again found my way into another shot and that made this my 4th popular shot of 2010. Jennifer is a former model and I guess she has not lost that yet by all the clicks I got on this shot. No it was not staged, she picked her spot and happened to be in my view.

This is one of those shots that just involved major luck. Poised on the big Jax bridge myself and a number of RP.net and other photographers stood ready to catch the first ever arrival of the NS executive train. Well when it became apparent that the FEC transfer job may skunk the shot everyone ran up the bridge for a better view...I stood my ground and was the only one who nailed a shot of the entire train.

This is FEC train 107 on Eastern Sunday and Railpictures Contributor Jennifer McDaniel was caught by my lens waving at Dave Shelly on 107 in St. Augustine.

My most popular shot of 2010 - This shot involved a lot of luck. I purposely drove overnight the day before to be in the Washington DC area ahead of this historic storm. Jeep 4WD got me to this station in 20 minutes, usually only 5 minute ride from the hotel. Got stuck once, but made it to the station, slugged through 2 feet of snow to get to the platform to JUST make it.
I hope everyone enjoyed...lets see what happens in 2011....
