Gallery: Human Element
Let's see some of those photos that include railroad employees, railfans, and people in general that add to a rail related scene.

I enjoy these types of photos. The human element in itself makes for a unique photo.

How about a gallery of nothing? I love the Gallery posts, as it is a great way to see shots you may have missed or a photographer's hidden gems, but when there are 3 galleries started within a couple days of each other, they lose their appeal, in my opinion.
The more galleries there are clustered together, the amount of photographers participating declines because it isn't easy to keep digging through your shots every day or two looking for a shot of a steam engine, or a thunderstorm, or a railroad employee.
Leaving a week or two between gallery posts will allow photographers that don't visit the forums every day (or have jobs) to participate and enhance the quality of the gallery, instead of looking at the same four photographers' photos.

I agree Chris, way to many are being posted and it needs to slow down some. I think the quality would improve also.

How about linking to work from other photographers, in addition to your own? That seemed to be how it worked in the good old days.

I am to the point where I dont really enjoy photographing trains so much as I enjoy photographing the people working on them. A couple more I didnt include that had people in them but they werent really the focal point of the image.

Lord, I've put my foot in my mouth typing so much in the last 12 hours. Something good has to be on TV. Maybe I'll sit down with a book. Closer look next time. Hope I didn't just offend someone on the board. If its any consolation, about ten years ago I had long hair. Was sitting at a table in a bar & grill with my ex-wife who was then my girlfriend and is now my wife when a waiter came up from behind me and said, "Hey, what can I get you ladies to drink?" By the time he got finished asking the question, he was beside the table looking straight at me goatee about a hundred shades whiter than Casper.
Of course, I could have just said I'm not wearing glasses and moved on.

It's OK Joe. Anyone could make that mistake.
Now in the bar, if you had been wearing your dress...

I agree with Chris here. There's been a few too many in one bunch lately. Much as I like Gallery threads, I would prefer a week or so between them, at least.
I had thought about starting a gallery thread in a couple of weeks for train crew shots. (Not yard staff, station staff, maintenance staff or others, just drivers, firemen and guards/conductors.)
I do like to include people in my shots, they add life to them (in many cases, that is). Anyway, I started looking through my stuff for human interest pictures and found there are dozens and dozens of 'em.
So I'm not spending any more time that I can't really spare and going for my original idea. Therefore my photos here are of crews only. Not only that, I thought I'd post a few shots of different crews on just one particular steam loco.
Here they are:
