Definitely a flickr shot. Don't waste your time trying to get it on RP.

Default Whether it is a piece of poo, is irrelevant.

Well Jim, that is all well and good, but your post is non-responsive to the question.

RP says that the photo is not cropped right, so regardless of whether it is a piece of poo, I think we as a group need to come to an agreement as to how it should look, since I am unable to properly compose the shot.

I would have cropped most of the sky out, since the color is whack.

I guess my question would be to ask what it is about the rejected photo that you find compelling versus the photo that is already accepted? Perhaps if we knew that we could work on the cropping. I personally can't see a lot that would make me try to edit this one, especially given that you already had some success with this train at this spot.

Scene is nice, train is just in the wrong place, why didnt you shoot the units in the right place in the frame, the composition is alot better than the accepted shot.

Good idea.

I don't do enough shots in portrait format.

I find nothing "compelling" about the shot, and I personally like the accepted one much better.

However, there are plenty of accepted shots in the DB that are composed similarly (including many taken from that spot) which led me to take one of my B list frames from that day and submit it.

The units are DPU's and they were going away from me.

I have many frames, would one with the units closer and the same landscape look better?

Another argument that would perhaps be solved by using a portrait format rather than landscape.

With all due respects, I don't even think I would have tripped the shutter for this one. I did download the shot to see if I could come up with a creative crop.

Nope. Nothing. Nada...

Your accepted shot you lose all the mountains in the background and the train is akwardly cut off, surprised it was accepted. So yes I think a shot with the train closer would be better, lets see it.

Based on this morning's top shot, I think you should have had a heffer in the foreground. I think this got an FCA at Bovinepictures.net

Yes, maybe 3 or 4 cars down from where the tank cars start.
