Poor Aesthetic Quality Rejection
Good evening everyone. I had this rejected for Poor Aesthetic Quality, I have no issues with that, but was wondering your opinions on why. I have my thoughts on why and was just wondering if I was correct in my thinking.

Thanks Jason

Blur or streak shots seem to be out of favor. I don't see this one getting on

This is one of those things they need to work on. This is an awesome pic and I really like looking at it. RP is not any better off without it. But wedge shots of gevo's seem to be set to automatically accept.

Since there is no photo description, I have no idea what I'm looking at other than a skyline. Also, this didn't scream unlevel to you when you were processing it?

Nice abstract, but Jim has a good point.

The green streaks appear a bit too heavily burned in to me. Their brightness distracts my eyes and causes less enjoyment of the entire scene.

Poorly executed is what the rejection means. The streaks are overexposed, and it's unlevel. I'd also suggest getting some height (if possible) to separate the streaks in the skyline.
Night shots need to be held to a higher standard IMO.

^ I agree with Loyd.
I think the idea has promise, but the shot itself, technically is lacking. Especially the background. Blurry almost, or OOF, or maybe vibration from using a crappy tripod? Or Windy?. Could be a lot better executed. I think they got this one right.
Maybe the wrong rejection REASON, maybe PIQ?

First impression was "amusement park at night".
Maybe level it, reduce highlights, reduce color temp, and change RR to "Metro-North Hudson Line".

I guess I'm not into streaks. But as others have mentioned there are also a bunch of technical issues.....I can't say faults because with something that abstract some times the "faults" might be on purpose. I'm desperately trying to think out side the box but it just doesn't do anything at all for me, as is, or with any changes that I can think of. But that's just me, others' mileage obviously varies.

I would like to thanks everyone for the help. My personal thought was I didn't like the way the streak came out. The other ones I took came out fine with the streaks. Now to try and answer your points.
Jim, thanks for the input. I did forget to level the picture, and I can see the point about not having a good description.
Noct, thanks
Shortline, I agree about the streaks. I'm not sure what happened as it went around the corner.
Lyod, Have no issues with the rejection, it's nice to know what it means.
Getting higher is not an option here, but I understand why.
Troy I have a carbon tripod and it could be stronger. I have and older Aluminum one that i may try next time.
Miningcamper, thank you for the idea of changing the rr to Metro North Hudson Line
Again I would like to thank everyone and hopefully the next one will be better>
