Default VIA wrapped locomotives always undersharpened?

I am not a very good judge of under or oversharpening. I generally always sharpen about the same amount and hope for the best. When I get an undersharpened rejection, I sharpen and try again.

However recently I've gotten 4 undersharpened rejections on 2 shots, oddly both of VIA Rail's P42DC's that are wrapped in a Canada 150 scheme.

First rejection:

Second rejection:

Finally got on on third try

Now I've gotten two undersharpened in a row on a second shot.

Any thoughts on what's going on? Are the rejected photos that lacking in sharpness?

Looking at them on my retina screen while wearing reading glasses, they both look slightly soft. Just do some sharpening on the side of the loco and you'll be good to go.
