Question Re-sizing for upload troubles

I'm having trouble sizing files for upload in PSE5. I want to stop using the built-in save-for-web choice so that exif data will be loaded.

I just tried to upload one that was manually re-sized, with file data that said it was 1000x750 pixels. RP rejected it as being over the 1024 limit. I used the save-for-web choice and it was fine.

Whut's happenin'?

Do you have a "Save as" option, as opposed to Save for the web?

Makes no sense; all I can suggest is that you start again and work carefully.

Any chance you uploaded the original by mistake?

Try changing the file name to something really simple. I file my photos along the lines of BNSF 8565 GrandForksND 01 18 08.jpg. If I upload that file I get the same error. Most of my uploaded file names are something simple like BNSF8565.jpg, no spaces, no odd characters, etc. Hope this helps.

Default Complex File Names

I agree, if I use a long file name with spaces etc. I get the same error. The solution is as UNDPilot suggests .... short and sweet.

I have not had a problem with name length, but certainly have with spaces and odd characters, in particular parentheses.
