Default Canon Lens Repair

Recently, my 200mm f2.8L stopped autofocusing. I sent the lens to Canon and it just came back - unrepaired. Apparently Canon no longer has the parts to fix it! The lens is an old one, I bought it in 1992, but I was shocked to hear that Canon couldn't fix it. It's my favorite lens and I want it repaired, so I'm hoping that maybe someone has a recommendation on where I might be able to get it fixed.

Thanks for any help,

You could try a third party repairer, they may be able to selvage some parts from a dead lens that they have in the parts bin. Check the phone book.

Given the cost of L series glass I can understand your reluctance to part with it.
