SP Heritage unit unveiling hours away - Saturday Morning.
SP heritage unit will be unveiled August 19 at Roseville, CA
between 8AM and 1PM!
How about a last minute poll?
PS - Don't even think your shot will be #1 Saturday if it's not this unit!
/Mitch
I'll bet it will have a big 'ol oversized Sunset Route Logo on it.

Stranger things have happened. Even so, it maybe number 1, but it'll just be a boring roster shot.
Now the first quality, in action image will be something worth seeing.

Maybe so, but I'm not whipping out $1 bills to see that particular garment come off. LOL

Use $2 bills for that. They see that "2" and think it's a "20".

Is anyone going to whine about it not 'meeting the standards?'

Chris,
That picture you just shared makes the engine look even better. You may be having to screen quite a few comments.

Frankly, until this was unveiled I thought the CNW unit was the ugliest. But the ESPEE unit simply takes the cake. I can't even say the two tie each other, the ESPEE unit is just BLEAH!
The lines of the paint are just horribly out of synch with the lines of the SD70ACe. They could have done a MUCH BETTER job with this one.
So far, I'm ranking the KATY unit on top of the pile, followed by the DRG&W and the MOPAC.
Granted it's not my choice just being a lowly railfan, I just have to accept it, but I don't see any railfan trips geared towards seeing that thing, even if it's in my own backyard. LOL

Probably not because that photo appears to meet all the standards.

I've more or less liked all the units thus far, but this one is pretty bad. It seems like they felt that since the daylight scheme was so good to begin with, they could half-ass it and call it a day. It looks like they spent about 5 mins on it.
... with that being said, I would still skip an entire day of classes waiting for it if the unit ever came near Pittsburgh...

I like apple pie and I like cherry pie but I've never asked to mix the two together after dinner! I thank UP for the initiative and admit that while most of the units are abit gaudy, they are still fun to look at and I've enjoyed the show.
