Default Do these even exist on RPnet

I would like to see some very realistic photos from RPnet that have a bright sky and/or land (not blown out) with the train in the darker part of the image but looks very real. So no overdone shadow highlight jobs ect.

Kinda based off this post.

I tried submitting one but it got dinged for "distracting shadows". It got accepted for a magazine instead

Are you talking about this Travis?

The "Ween" shot.

Perhaps the sky is too blown out for what you seek, and for the record never submitted to RP for the anticipated "backlit" rejection.

Just like that but it has to be in color. Probably better sky detail.

That fits RPnet as a very nice high contrast black and white.

Just like Ween's.

Yes, shots like that fit the bill. Now find one on rpnet.

That shot is awesome! After saying awesome I now hear the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle theme song playing.

I love it. You have seen my work.

I would crop it tighter. I know you lose the sun and some sky but the other train is distracting to me.

Yeah, I thought about that, but I like the glowing rails leading to that train.

Although most of the loco is in good light, the smoke deflectors mean the front is dark, especially the smokebox door (the original RAW file shows almost no detail in this area, just black). If I'd exposed for the darker sections, the sky and the rest of the shot would have been burnt out, so it was adjusted using a layer mask, hopefully without being obvious

There is at least one more, a predecessor to the current pair, and a PCA

Travis:

Getting back to your original inquiry, here's a shot that might fit your criteria. I thought the lighting was quite dramatic, especially with the sunlight glowing between the frame and the fuel tank and the cool looking clouds. However, I probably needed the cloud base above the train. Probably lucky it even got accepted...
