Here's one of my more recent shots that I really liked but couldn't get in after several different crops, etc:

Every reject is for "foreground obstruction" but the part that gets me about that reject is that I have this shot (same location - MUCH more obstructed) already in:

Maybe if I'd got a BNSF Orange leader the color would pop more. I thought I had it with the vertical crop showing mostly the cab & bridge down to the ice but still got nailed for the same reject. Oh well...

I think there right on both of them, the leafless one just wont make it, now would be a good time to trim some brush!?

You got screwed there Ween. That shot only looks like something you might see in a book! I know, I know... Not enough light on the nose. Spectacular shot, IMHO.

Nah, I like it as is. Rejected initially, rejected on appeal...wasn't meant to be.

MDH, the one that made it in is quite striking. The leaves make the shot work, providing the cover for the train top pop out from. In the leafless one, the branches becaome clutter and don't looks so good. I've got about a million bare branch clutter shots myself

Prehaps a shot after a nice snowfall with snow on the branches would work... maybe. Would make a killer shot at peak autumn colour.

Touche RP.net! Some battles aren't worth fighting when you know you can win the war via other means.
