Default Closest Shot in the Database to Your Front Door

I have so freaking much work to do this weekend I don't even know where to start... so instead of starting, I am procrastinating for a moment and starting a new thread...

What is the closest image in the data base to your front door?

I'm going to begin by sharing two... my present home and my childhood home.

Although, this rejected shot is actually much closer

Closest to where I currently live (a little less than a mile from home, in fact as the remarks state I walked from my house to get this shot):

And closest to my former home, which unfortunately hasn't seen regular train traffic in about 25 years:

If I looked up I could see my house on the hillside about 1/2 mile from this spot in Burns Lake.

Since moving to Golden, I can't see the tracks anymore but I can sure hear the train traffic. This is also less that a mile from my front door.

I hope you still manage to have a productive weekend. Sometimes one just needs a silly-break to recoup and refocus.

For me it's a tie for two at the same location (although the second one is far and away my favorite since it has the shadow of my son sitting on my shoulders waving at the crew):

Well, we tend to move a lot, so there's a few answers to that question. This first shot was taken less than half a mile from where we would move six months later.

In fact, I found the house we'd move to by following the L&C one day and seeing the "For Rent" sign. So now we had the L&C running by where we'd live. My son and I would sit on the front porch and watch it pass and depending on sun angles and direction of travel decide if we were going to give chase.

This shot was takin 2 blocks away from my home, I only live about 12 car lengths (600 ft) from the right of way on the street I'm on with a clear view of passing trains from my room.

Came down to a separation of a few feet for me. This is technically the closest and roughly one mile from my house. This is second place from nearly the same location:

Armour Yard. The little underpass just to the left of 611 is the original Atlanta & Charlotte Air Line main line into Atlanta, later by-passed. It remained an industrial route with active customers until just a few years ago, and is slated to become part of Atlanta's "Belt Line" project. (It also happens to pass 2 blocks from our house.)

The attachment photo: .9 miles to the entrance of the Park Ave tunnel on the route into Metro North's Grand Central Terminal.

Part of this tunnel is the oldest railroad tunnel still in use in the US. (circa 1850's)

If I could shoot INSIDE the tunnel, that would be the closest.
