Is this any kind of record to be proud of?

I just noticed that two of my pictures posted consecutively at RP were taken 45 years apart. I wonder if this is any kind of record.

This one:

was taken two weeks ago.

I have posted some older ones, but those two were consecutive. Not sure I'm proud of this, but I guess the good news is I'm still at it chasing trains.

Can't say anything about the age deal, but there's a ton to be proud of to have such a history of documenting rail activity! I've been at this for a little over 3 years; I hope I can last at least half as long as John!

I think the most interesting part is the fact that they look as if they could have been taken on the very same day! The lighting in both looks similar.

Part of the similar look is John is shooting film in both examples. We've discussed the fact that digital does look different, mostly through the ability to pick up detail in shadow areas. Digital may be technically superior, but when recreating shots for photo charters, the "film look" is part of capturing that bygone era. I noticed that several of the recent 1225 shots were posted in B&W, also helping to capture that "steam era" feeling.

Don't know if it is, but a neat idea, and an excellent shot. Hope that this will continue for many years; but will you have to match 1961 with 2008, 1960 with 2009, etc.??
