Default 7 Day Gallery

Finally had some time to upload some stuff to RP. Here is a 7 day gallery for your viewing. I am new to the hobby and eager to learn so *constructive* criticism is appreciated.

Too daunting a task, too many images. That's a big ask. I glanced at a few, one was cloudy common, give it up, some days you can't get an RP-acceptable shot. One was waaay dark, learn how to use a histogram. One was also dark, it has a headlight beam, those shots are a mixed back on RP. Maybe darker - counterintuitive, yes - might help. That's all from me.

I agree with JRMDC, too daunting a task. Dumping 15 rejections in a single thread will not lead to much in the way of discussion. It would be better IMO to start a thread about one, or perhaps two or three rejections, perhaps ones that are similar.

I would like input but last I did this I was called out for starting multiple threads....really was confused about the proper forum etiquette.

Well, now I see that Elite (paying) customers don't get a free ticket to admission from the screeners.
Suggestion: keep the rejection list in a post short by not including duplicates or photos discussed in previous threads.

Is this a crop? Do you have any more to work with?

Selective color is generally not accepted on RP.

Too much dead space on the left. You should have panned to the right a bit to move the train away from the side of the frame.

With some better processing and a slightly better crop, that could have a chance.

This needs to be recropped. Go with a 4:5 ratio and get rid of a lot of the dead space at the bottom. No reason this needs to be 2:3. Also, sharpen it a little more.

Yes, this was taken as a 4X6 with lots of room right, some top, not much on bottom or left. What would you suggest on this? I cropped this was to remove dead space on the right.

I'll give that a try, wish I had more zoom at the time but it is that is.

Thanks for looking Jim, really appreciate the comments.

Can you post the original? A low quality image would be fine. I just want to see what you have to work with for a different crop.

This is close to the original, it has some processing and leveling but no cropping. Thanks

Actually, it looks like a bit is missing off the bottom as compared to the rejection. But anyway, I was hoping you had more to work with on the left so there could be a little breathing room opened up there. Can you return to this location and redo the shot, with more on the left and less on the right? It will work with a horizontal, but you've got to balance the subject out a little more evenly across the frame.

Similar angle with a horizontal frame:

I'd try a 3:2 crop like this:

I agree, I think that looks a lot better. Thanks for the suggestion and for making me go back in my folder and find I had a better frame

I can see why you wanted to crop it on the left side not to show any of the infrastructure, but with the overall scene, it adds interest to the left side.

Maybe it's just my screen or my eyes, but I see a lot of distortion to the left.
