Default CSX new SD70AC's

Q58726 with CSX 4705, 4702 called out of Evansville, IN for 1045

Q64527 with CSXT 4723, CSXT 4709 out of Danville, IL

THE 4702, 4705 are fresh from VMV/NRE Paducah & 4723 is the newest one in service.

Should be interesting to see where they go to. Some of the other new 70's are testing in the coal fields of the old C&O/B&O. The engines might make a few trips on the Chattanooga road for testing. The first two heavy AC's(495 & 496) tested first on the Chatt. line before going to Grafton.

Managed to catch both of these trains on the 28th. Got Q587 before it crossed the Ohio in to Kentucky and chased Q645 from Patoka south until it got too cloudy to shoot. I had a couple good spots in mind to shoot it at but the weather just didn't cooperate

If accepted, they should be in the database soon.

Cool photos!

Where is CSX going to primarily use these units?

It will be interesting to see. Q587 terminated in Nashville and Q645 terminated in Waycross GA. I heard mention on the scanner that there was going to be a power change on Q587 near Hopkinsville Ky, so I am not sure if the power made it to Waycross or if they were adding power to take the train on south.

Oh yeah, Thanks for the comments! I got two of the 3 in the database now. Nothing much I can do about the pole shadow in the middle pic.

The 4702 and 4705 have been floating between Nashville and Atlanta. I caught 'em as my last photo of 2004 in Ringgold, GA which is just south of Chattanooga.

I just hope some of these units make it down here to Florida, preferably on the heavy Conrad Yelvington Rock Trains to Miami.
