I don't know what to do with this one. If I do in fact level with the bridge span, it looks more unlevel. I appealed to the proprietors of this best of the 'net, and they do not agree. So, what do you think? Which way should I go? I'm at a loss

It's a beautiful shot. But the more I looked at it, the more confused I became. At first, I was going to say level ever so slightly CW because of the bridge. Then I looked at the water line. Judging from the water line, it looks like it needs CCW rotation. But then I wondered if the water line was a true representation of the horizon in this shot. So, to answer your question, I don't know.

When I push the image against the top of the frame in my browser, the bridge is un-level (slightly).

Turn the photo clockwise - slightly.

Also the image is grainy on the right in the blue of the sky and it is over saturated on the right in the green and blue channels.

You might also want to use a frame that has the train further across the bridge if you have one.

Its awesome, except it needs a little CW. I would level off of the butt end of the engine.

I was going to say a slight CW rotation but decided to take it into Photoshop to double check. The rail at the far left of the image is 7 pixels higher than under the first truck of the second passenger car.

Don't you know that you should level by verticals? That is irrelevant unless you choose two points that are the exact same distance from the photographer. Level based on the back of the unit.

Don't rotate - perspective correct. Notice how the far left bridge pier appears, if anything, to be leaning left, but the far right pier appears to lean right.

... but you still agree that it needs a slight CW rotation. That's the best reasoning I could come up with by using what was in the image. Maybe he should add some fake snow so you can complain to me about that.

First, it is a tad overexposed... fix that...

Second, WATER SEEKS ITS OWN LEVEL... D'oh... level against the water line on the piers, get every pier you can in that line.

It's a total loss....I've tried a few more times and they just don't want the image. I'm giving it a break on this shot for a little while. Thanks anyways.

Hmm, I think it needs about .8 degrees CCW but I've had four beers with dinner and been up too long, so my opinion is essentially useless.

Does this look any more level? Nice shot by the way. It needed horizontal as well as vertical perspective adjustments.

You nailed it, Chris. Fixing the w/a distortion really made a huge difference.

Good point....but there's no need to question the ability of the photographer over one photograph. This will just have to sit in the archives for a little longer until I feel like messing with it again

Colors are ok I think it's to light, A bit darker and the colors may fall in line?
