Default Favorite loco and paint

Some more fun guys and gals:

Post a pic from the database of your all time favorite locomotive and paint scheme, and in your favorite area. The photo doesn't have to be your own. Do a search from the home page, select a state, and possibly a city or region keyword to narrow your search.

My favorite loco is the EMD SD45, in SP bloody nose scheme, without the speed lettering. My favorite area to see this loco is Donner Pass. Just beautiful.

This is my favorite pic in the database:

I'll have to say that my favorite is the EMD GP60 in black. There's just something major cool about the looks and sound of this locomotive.

However, the Southern Pacific/Cotton Belt scheme also looks very nice on these locomotives.

My favorite loco would be an SD70MAC in BNSF paint. I like the way they sound when throttling up, and they have nice horns.

Throttling up and laying on the horn....no better sound than that.

To me, there is nothing that I can remeber that had more class than a Southern GP50 wearing the tuxedo. Southern E and F units where sharp in Virginia Green and Gold, but I am not old enough to remember those in regular service. I can fondly look back at the day when 3 or 4 high hood GP50's hustled the hottest trains over the CNO&TP..clean or dirty, they where classy..

I love how all the names for that scheme follow the same pattern: Vomit Bonnet, Barf Bonnet, Warvomit, etc.

Cool

I'm going with Caleb on this one. The GP60 is one sharp locomotive.

Especially in SSW paint.

Unfortunately there is no picture available of my favorite loco/paint scheme combination.

I love the Erie Lackawanna. I grew up in Scranton, PA-the heart of the EL in the East and remember seeing those gray, maroon, and yellow diesels everywhere. My favorite diesel is the Alco C-628. It's just a big, brawny, don't-mess-with-me looking engine. EL never had any but I can picture that paint scheme on one and it looks good to me! A close 2nd is a C-628 in that awesome D&H lightning stripe scheme (actually ANY locomotive in the D&H lightning stripe looks good )
