Default Dash 8.5 observation

I got a question and I hope it can be answered. Today, a Norfolk Southren C40-9W was parked in Edmonds. It was number NS 9138. Looking through my pictures, I noticed there wasnt a hand brake wheel in the normal location below the hood fan on the conductors side. Do they have electronic brakes or the wheel/lever somewhere else? Thanks.

I believe most of the NS Dash 9's have electronic parking brakes. The older ones, however, have regular hand brakes and on those units brakewheels are visible in their normal position.
