Default New Feature: Screener's Choice

If you haven't noticed already there is a new link on the main page of RP.net that will take you to a "Screener's Choice" section. This new feature will showcase some of the better shots that go through the screening process. During screening, the screener will have the option of adding an accepted photo to this gallery. This will be used on shots where the screener thinks the photos is a "cut above the rest" and deserves some extra attention from our viewers.

I have added a couple of shots to that gallery already to give you an idea of what we are looking for.

We hope you enjoy this new feature!

Awsome! I'm glad to see that RP.net is getting some attention. At any rate, I think this new addition will give photographers an extra 'something' to work for.

I'm a little confused. Are the pictures in that file there permanently, or do they rotate over some time frame? If they're there permanently, how is it different from the editor's picks? Don't get me wrong, I like the addition, I just don't fully understand how it works.

There is no rotation of images. The newest screener's choice photos will appear first, just like the archived photo of the week section.

It is very hard for one of the administrators to see photos worthy of the editor's pick section as we don't see every shot published. This gives those "good" shots the chance to get extra attention per the screener's discretion.

During the course of the week we compile a list of photos that are possible POTW shots and at the end of the week we pick the one that best fits what we are looking for....(dramatic location, nice composition, unique lighting, etc).

Chris,
When I click on page 2 on the screener's choice page, it seems to lead into the entire gallery, all 78,000+.
