Default Site Name?

So, inspired by my first print sale, I've decided that I'm going to try and set up my own website for my photography. The problem: I need a name for the site.
Any suggestions?

The site will have both railroad photography, as well as nature and other miscellaneous photography. It may also feature a place for some future model railroad stuff as well. But the Photography will be the main thing.

Thanks,
-Mike

Since christophermuller.com was already taken (ironically by another railfan), I added in my middle initial for http://www.christophersmuller.com

Now it looks like Christopher Smuller. Or, Christophers Muller.

WeaselSwan.com is available - the formula has worked very well for me.*

* If you discount the fact that there's a Native American fellow whose name actually is Ottergoose and uses it on a couple of forums.

I've always found, the more succint and catchy you can make a website name, the better.

How bout,

http://www.railroadphotographyaswell...tuffaswell.com.

Should be a great hit.

So, I'm going between a simple, more professional sounding "Mike Wnek Photography" (MAW Photography and MW photography were already taken), or the slighly more out there, less professional but more easily rememberable "Weasel Snap Photography" (thanks to Nick for inspiration for the name). Opinions?

Perhaps it's an age thing (I'm a few years older than River Rails Photgraphy, and yourself ) but I would prefer "Mike Wnek Photography". Might think differently if your name was John Smith or similar (no offence to any John Smiths intended!)

Hmm, AB2 was the obvious choice for mine, guess you regret not putting a (3) or (5946) after your name now, huh?

In all seriousness, I like Wnek Photography. Putting a full name could become confusing for those you just say the site name to and not write down. "What was his name again, Mark? Mick? John?" Know what I mean? Something short and easy to remember is the way to go.

In the end, I decided to err on the side of professionalism, and ended up going with www.wnekphoto.com (don't click on it, it's not operational yet).

Though, Nick, I did almost end up going with Weasel Snap, just because it sounded amusing and easy to remember. We'll just have to leave that one for a weasel photography enthusiast.

Hey, my suggestion was "Weasel Swan," not "Snap" - the combination of a weasel like critter and aquatic bird is a winning one.

Default web domain name

I see you already made a choice on names, which is fine.

I am a believer of branding your own name, be it photo, or whatever (real estate, auto mechanic, etc). So, if you are a car mechanic, you could go with your name OR something like cardoctor.com, i.e., something that is easy to verbally tell someone without them having to write it down. Since your last name is phonetically hard to write after having it said to someone, that would have been my choice. (its not a common spelled name, so it requires you to spell it to someone you are giving it to verbally), on the other hand something like 'riverrails.com' for a photog is easy to say, easy to remember. Keep that in mind. You can always create more domain "brands" and point them to a singlular site.

Also, I recommend the .com if possible. Godaddy is the place to shop for domains. if you buy a domain name, buy it for 3 years instead of just one, you will save $ even though it will cost a bit more initially.

Good luck with the site,
Chico
http://www.heartlandrails.com (my photos)
http://www.therayway.com (my work...goofy name I know but easy to tell someone, easy to remember. I use additional real estate domains to point to the same site too, for different reasons that have to do with search placement. my real name is Ray Peacock but raypeacock.com is already taken by an English comedian..

I know, but it was inspired by my initial misreading of your post.
