Default What's everyone up to on this Sat. evening?

Since I can't be out photographing trains right now, I'm doing the next best thing...driving them. Well at least in simulation. I'm currently dragging an Eastbound grain train through upstate NY just outside of Schenectedy with D&H C628 #617 on the head end. Its a rainy Autumn day and I'll certainly be fighting with the dynamic breaks.

Aye...that'd be the one.

What are you writing your article on?

I'm now watching a "My Name is Earl" marathon waiting for SNL to come one. Jason Lee (one of my favorite actors of all time) is hosting.

Did you know that Jason Lee is also a professional skateboarder and co-owns a skateboard company?

Well, it's Sunday morning now, but I'm sitting here reading this post. Earlier, I was watching the Georgia-Auburn game. Gotta love that SEC football!

I'm amazed that the control stand in that Alco is actually somewhat accurate. However, I doubt any real railroader would have a ceramic coffee mug up there. Hit a rough spot in the tracks, and you lose your mug and your beverage.

Only question now is do they sound like real Alcos?

I'm late too. I was at a train show and then I spent the rest of the night watching NCAA football (And playing Madden 05).

Yeah, they sure do. If you have MSTS this route is worth the money.

It's at www.mapleleaftracks.com . Costs $20, but as I said it is worth it.

Well, since Saturday night US time is actually Sunday morning over here, I was either asleep or getting ready to head north depending on what time of the evening it was...

Aye...I was watching UVA defeat GA Tech yesterday (Go Whoos!!!)

Now, I'm watching the Giants take on the Vikings.

Having heard Alcos running on the M&E, I do have to say the sound is very close, although on my current PC speakers, its sound is less than optimal.

As for the mug, its the little trademark of MTL.

*EDIT* Ween, when you coming home brother?

Lets see what did I do? Interrupted Muslims praying, responded to a lesbian cat fight (not the good looking kind either) and had a drunk driver about hit me head on going southbound in the northbound lanes. Other than that, a quiet relaxing evening

SEC football. I heard a rumor that might be coming to Lexington Ky someday.

Doesn't sound like you had too much excitement.

Wheels up here on 22 Nov (knock on wood), and I should be landing KRDR 23 Nov sometime late afternoon/early evening. A little too late for railfanning, but enough time for getting re-acquainted with the Mrs. and hitting QDoba afterwards!!!!

So lets see: a potential visit from the civilian review board; paperwork; and, ibuprofen and more paperwork.

Well, It is Sunday night for me, and I am playing train sim as well, only I'm in Tokeo. Except my train activity ended because I passed a red signal, even though the signal was green. Oh well, I guess I will go to Montana and take out a BNSF train.

Marias Pass simulator. I guess it isn't like Halo; MSTS doesn't have stages.

I usually just start blasting my horn when I first spot them.

The Enginner's handbook says to DIM your lights, then blow your horn. I guess the deer get frozen when they see a bright light.

I would like to see a mod added that would allow a Starsky & Hutch style hang out the window with the use of a large caliber hand gun. In the real world, there are grizzly bears too.

Glitches in the game that I see.
When I run over a deer, nothing happens. When I run over an automobile nothing happens. When I park my train on a crossing, with boxcars on the crossing, not engines, the traffic goes right through the boxcar...

I remember reading in the manual or somewhere that you should dim the headlight and then blow the horn.
