Well, the "stooges" I was referring to are the HLS drones that surf the web, web forums, and the like for "objectionable material".

I really doubt that you should worry about Homeland Security! Railroad Police are the ones to be concerned about. Plus, you took a photo of YOURSELF trespassing, 'nuff said!

I did not mean that Homeland Security is going to do anything, but every time there is and incident, it seems to be brought up by the RR people.

My initial comment about Homeland Security was directed toward you. However, someone else thought that I was referring to them, I was not. It was a strikingly similar response though.

So, I'm bringing this thread back from the depths because I was exploring the internet's vast collection of rail photography from my corner of the world and chanced upon some pictures other folks took in Independence of the same objects I did at RR Picture Archives .Net. For me, this was very interesting due to the fact that the town's pretty small and doesn't attract much in the line of railfans (even though the W&P line goes straight through the damn streets of down town).

Anyway, my point is that if you'd note, in the 1986 B&W photo of the unit parked in the small yard, you'll see in the background the coach that I shot 23 years later in the pic with the sunrays. What over two decades will do.

Then, in the picture of the trestle, you can see how swollen the creek is compared to when I shot it. Typical for the different times of year, still.

Well, perhaps it's just something that catches my attention.

Since I've last posted here, I received a Kodak EasyShare C1013 camera for my birthday.

It's so much broader photographing with a real camera.

Today was one of those where I was stuck with nothing better to do but that which I often will; chill in town, hanging out at places I often do, and after having puttered around, my feet took me to the train tracks where I'll go to contemplate. I started strolling down the tracks when I looked up and saw headlights lumbering towards me off in the distance.

But alas! Right time, right place, yet I hadn't planned on this series of events and was not equipped with my digital camera!

But I did have my phone, which used to be my photographic medium.

The fence in the first shot isn't helping the shot, and I think the clutter at the bottom is a little too distracting.

For the second shot: Non-locomotive abstract shots like this are hard to get accepted in the first place, and most people on here don't view graffiti on the cars in a positive light, so I think that will be this shot's nail in the coffin.

Chris is right about the fence, but the ties don't bother me that much. Not knowing the story behind them, they don't mean much, but if there is a story behind them (discarded from replacement/abandonment) it may be a different story. This spot is pretty well out with that fence, but in the future I suggest a better comp. like not blocking the loco with the ties, and maybe showing more of them if you want to include them, so they don't appear cut off in your photo.
