I know it's wrong, but I'm sure he could feel the train coming, and could see the gates going down in the background. It's still trespassing regardless if you are deaf or not.
Nice shots from everyone! Glad to see this thread receiving some attention.

You may be making some untrue assumptions here. I doubt that he travels alone much, if at all.
Here is my Rare Catch..... Just Google it up and see how many other pics you can find............ | PhotoID: 283037 Photograph © J Douglas Moore |

Despite 28 years of flying airplanes, my hearing is still pretty good....but I always look both ways before crossing RR tracks. I'm guessing that David is even more careful about that.

A few come to mind:
Most recently my rejected Northern Pacific steam engine photos - other then NP #328, there is currently only one single NP steam engine in the database. And none that can be found searching "Northern Pacific". RP didn't like the fence in front of the displays. There's always Steamlocomotive.com.
Back to rare catches:

Does this one count? An abandoned SP coach. I wish I'd had more time to tend to the composition of the shot, but I do like the addition of the sun rays that were captured. Also, if someone could enlighten me as to what exactly this car's purpose may have been, that'd be interesting.

Rare for me, last time I was in this part of the world was 26 years ago...

And this little filly gets out of the house only two days a year...

Rare in number on the planet though not rare on RP...

I think there is only one each of these...

I did the best I could with a cloudy day, and blown out skies, and just over all dark without the processing being worse than it is. Just read the description. And yes, I know it says "Norfolk Southern". I emailed the RP crew about fixing that, since you can't fix it with the photo management.

Nice little loco, it appears about as often as this
PhotoID: 257099 Photograph © Janet Cottrell
Only available on Maria Himmelfahrt (national holiday in Austria) and the lines "gala" weekend a month or so later.
I have quite a few pictures that could be termed unusual or "rare", I do like searching for the more oddball or quirky stuff off the beaten track; and UK tour operators tend to specialise in getting certain types of locos to places they would never have gone to in normal service.
PhotoID: 248072 Photograph © Janet Cottrell
I'll bet these two GM-engined locos would have rarely (if ever) met up if it was not for the special train which brought them together.
PhotoID: 161647 Photograph © Janet Cottrell
Almost certainly the first (and probably last) member of it's class to traverse the line to Serpins.
PhotoID: 288321 Photograph © Janet Cottrell
The only way somebody would have seen one of these in Scotland thirty years ago would be by partaking of too many "wee drams"!

Dennis - FYI, 4 of the CDOT P32ACs in New Haven paint exist - 228, 229, 230 & 231
Anyways, mine would be getting a train and a Los Angeles class sub in the same frame. Rare in that the Navy usually requests an opening of the drawbridge so there's no trains around...

Kevin,
Yeah, I always could more be careful about by myself and be positive!

I thought this to be rare. UP 2002 heading west on the BNSF Chillicothe Subdivision on point.
PhotoID: 224569 Photograph © Jason Myers
This guy showed up just before UP 2002.
PhotoID: 224922 Photograph © Jason Myers
Another rare one for my area seeing IAIS power on the BNSF.
PhotoID: 217989 Photograph © Jason Myers
Yet another rare one. A passenger train on the I&M. I think the C&IM ran one in the early 70's on this line and before that it had been back in the 50's.
PhotoID: 243535 Photograph © Jason Myers
Oh and to top it off it's being pulled by a pair of SD18's
