Without searching my entire collection there are two that come to mind instantly:
High sun less then vivid colors.
I put it on RP simply so it's existence would not remain a secret.
Must be the old truck...

This image for some time (thanks to a very unexpected SC) surpassed by far what I considered much better efforts from the same charter (of which 2 garnered a PC (thanks!). Must have been the horse...

This soared to 1000 hits in about a month. I couldn't figure out why with it just being a crossing shot...nothing special.

It's a black CSX shot and a standard cab. There's only a few that came from NS that were allready black. I love catching these units.

I nearly didn't submit this one since it was going away and I figured it wouldn't even get accepted.

Ah you guys with your big numbers - it's enough to make a fellow feel inadequate.I don't have any large numbers to quote but I was impressed with the views for this,as it was a grab shot -

This one I didn't think would make it in, let alone a very high view count:

This one I figured would do better.

I always expect my stuff to get lots of views
I this one I just did for just for fun, it's a little weird and somehow it's my highest rated.
(Hmmm, note to self, do more weird shots because they=more views.)

Hi Jon,
I'm not surprised at all. You were the first to post a shot that contained the tank house at the WW&F and that structure was interesting to the "narra gauge" audience. The funky 3-way switch in the foreground was icing on the cake. Shortly after you, I posted a shot of their steamer tanking and it did pretty well also:

BTW Jon, I see you were at Strasburg back on the 5th. I was in New Hope most of the day, but got back for the dinner train. Sorry I missed getting a chance to meet you.
WRT my biggest surprise, well, there are a lot of them....good and bad. Roster shots of restoration projects have surprisingly gotten decent views. Well-lit, decently composed shots of places people are apparently sick of have bombed. The only recipe I know of is to shoot a pretty woman looking over a smoking wreck in a yard full of stored locomotives. That'll suck in the views every time!
As for my biggest surprise, it was also a WW&F shot:

Not a great B&W, but some site overseas linked it and it got over 1,000 hits in 2-3 days. Nearest I can figure, the site is in Scandinavia someplace. I'm glad somebody liked it.

The ones I can't believe got so many views:

People love the Big Boy.
 | PhotoID: 164501 Photograph © Christopher Blaszczyk |
The setup was interesting, and the lighting was well done, I just never expected the back of a steam locomotive's tender to receive almost 5,000 views.
The one I wish got more views:

I know verticals bomb in the view department on RP, but I just loved the snow-covered river, colorful locomotives and blue sky. One of my favorites from that weekend.

I would suspect the lighting is too flat for a true contrasty black and white. If the lighting was from one of the sides early or late in the day I would agree with the B&W or even a B&W with a hit of a warming filter to give it a rust color.
