Why oh why?

I really wish someone would have banged me on the head back in the '70s and '80s and told me to take LEVEL pictures and use rule of thirds when called for. I also wish I'd bought a Nikon slide scanner before the price skyrocketed.

There was a very good reason to shoot centered with slow ASA 25 or 64 slide film: more and more motion blur as the train got closer!

The best thing about technology today is that you can level those unlevel photos before sharing them with the world!

Have you forgotten that thing called an enlarger and a darkroom so soon? But admittedly it was a lot more complicated

And even more complicated if your intended final medium was not a print but a slide show!

I never used them (successfully), so it's easy for me to forget them.

Which might be why the more well known photogs from that earlier era tend to be known for their B&W work, not their color slides. One of the great things about the age of slide scanners is I can now recrop and level the slides that I took back then (not to mention color correct and all the other adjustments you can do with Photoshop these days). Vive la digital photography!
