Default What are the platform cars?
There are 3 cars in this pic with platforms/guard rails and ramps on them. This may sound like dumb question to the wiser but I have no clue what they are for. Can somebody educated me on this??

The trick is to look at Dave's photo at 300% magnification. This seems to be the only photo on RP of a BNSF pile driving outfit:
