Default Well, it took 4 years but...

I MADE LISTED STATUS

My 25th picture was accepted today:

Image © Greg Primrose
PhotoID: 342927
Photograph © Greg Primrose

All Pictures

I'd like to thank everyone here for the advice I've received over those 4 years. I've learned a lot about photography here, from the definition of back lite to the rule of 3rds.

Where does it say that 25 makes you a contributor?

I think he is referring to his name now being listed in the photographers drop down box on the front page.

Yes, I am now on the list of photographers. I didn't know what to call it.

I thought it was 50, not 25...

On a separate note, why did it take 4 years? Certainly not rejection after rejection. Or maybe?

I recall one of the chris' saying that it was temporarily changed to 50 due to some sort of system problem, presumably it is back to 25

I must admit I'm curious to know which drop down you are referring to. Both the one at the top and the one on the side stop at 50.

On the home page the drop down in the middle of the three columns, one of the set under "Railroad Photo Search Engine", goes to 25.

I don't know what you mean by "top" or "side".

Well I got my first picture in 2006, but after that nothing until I got my digital camera in 2007 and thats when I started running into rejections.

During 2008, I was working on my final semester of college and then on finding a job so I got away from it a bit.

I got back into it in 2009 and now I'm back in and enjoying it.

There were a decent number of rejections, but also a lot of me looking at the pictures and saying "No way is this RP.net quality."

You have to have a 50 shot minimum to be on the photo stats list, so maybe that is what you guys are thinking of.

Well, my 25th made it 20 minutes ago. So, as of 4:00 PM EST 11/27/10, I am on the contributor drop down menu.

25th:

I would like to echo what Greg said in the OP, too. Its really only because of RP that my shots are where they are. I would be still be taking pictures like the attached if it weren't for RP. And to the forumies, its only because of y'all that I was ever able to make shots on.

A lot of them have never seen that movie.

Same with Smokie and the Bandit.

But we did wear an onion on our belt because it was the style at the time.

I'm FINALLY about to reach 300!!! I could possibly pull a Travis Dewitz and upload 100 shots if A: They weren't all random locations B: I wasn't so ADD (what an excuse lol)! I'm so backed up on photos that it doesn't make sense! But, congrats, I certainly remember when I was 'tickled' when I made it to Photog Stats and Drop Down menu too!

so, I decided to go to Morganville, which is what they called Shelbyville in those days

And by the way, you know, when you're telling these little stories? Here's a good idea - have a POINT. It makes it SO much more interesting for the listener!
