Ah, he was just being a dick and trying to pretend he was someone else while going "nominate this!"

Weird. A strange new username appears, makes a suggestion for a PCA, gets called out, and then the photo gets pulled from the site. Something doesn't add up. And I personally can't wait to see how it plays out! Maybe there will be some drama like this forum used to be known for!

Talking What is worse than a loud mouth lurker.

Maybe it is the work of the RAT.

And I here he is carrying a gun now.

Glad I don't live near the Westslope.

Is that to defend himself from freights that sneak up behind him while he's standing in the gauge taking photos?

Is there a forum rule prohibiting that? Seriously...I don't see what the big deal is.

It was odd. Still, was it necessary to have the photo yanked?

I no longer recall which photo it was but it was good enough that someone said it should be nominated PC, lol. Seriously - I recall looking at the pic and thinking it wasn't all that bad (read: It was pretty nice).

Can someone explain to me why people would vote a roster shot for a PCA? I'll hang up and listen. Thanks.

I mean, seriously, how does a shot like this not make it to the #1 spot? Amazing scene you caught there, Mitch!

By the way, did you submit that unlevel on purpose to try to slip one past the screeners?

That would indicate a two digit IQ...

Maybe... just maybe, but not definitely, it was for respect for NS and Veterans.

Thanks Jim - and tell you what, you uncovered an unseen feature for me within Photoshop and it improved upon a method I was using less effectively. I'd like to return the favor and share a feature I like to use quite often:

RP Photo Feature

My current picks:

A beautiful scene! Hoar frost, red train on white snow, some mountain, some water, a great capture.

PhotoID: 417182
Photograph © Marek G. [dj_drezyna]

Just ran across this one, I may have been more likely to click on it because of my Polish heritage, but what a beauty in composition and in subtle hues!

OK, maybe I'm biased, this is a view from a location not too far from me, but I like the rail glint and the fog.

I'm don't have a Polish heritage, and I'm nowhere near the location of the third photo, but I voted for all three of those....I think they're just great pictures that stand on their own...

I'll play - since Janusz missed a couple (like the screeners):

Wow! How this didn't register as an SC is beyond me.
Maybe next week's POTW.

Nice - just real nice!

Nice to see a new angle at a tired location.

I like Jim's shot - Wonder if he held out for a train that never showed?

And of course, there's always a Chase in the mix:

Chase.. not sure how you made it past the crop monster. Crop the "extra" foreground and you got my vote. Technical perfection - how often do we see night flash shots with no hot spots? If for that reason alone....

Ditto - technically perfect lighting and a great moody, could've been decades ago kind of shot. Extra foreground works fine here.

This makes it more difficult, Mitch! I had only seen 2 of the 6.
