Red face I would really like to get this shot on..but...

Could you take a look at this photo-

http://www.railpictures.net/viewreject.php?id=198044

After they rejected it for blurry and bad litght, a sharpened it and edited it, and now they are rejecting it for

"Bad Contrast
- Horizon Unlevel: Try levelling the image in your photo editing software."

I tried to appeal it but he rejected it without any explanation

I think this shot is nice, and I could not find a similar one on the database.

Can you help me fix this ???? Thanks

An appeal here would not be the way to go. Since it was rejected for being unlevel, straighten it out. The contrast issue is a little tough. I don't see the contrast as being that bad, but even at that, fix that a little bit, and see what happens. Appealing without fixing problems that are probably easy to fix is something that will just wizz off the powers that be.

This shot, in my opinion, would take minimal effort to get accepted, so hopefully we'll see it up soon.

I agree with Pat. It is a tad unlevel, and needs just a bit more contrast, but both are easily fixable. I personally really like the shot and hope to see it up.

You might want to try this:

Rotate 2 CW
Crop diagonal edges out
Sharpen lightly
Fiddle around with the brighness and contrast until you get something you like.

It still looks pretty crooked and the color/ contrast looks dull.

How close do you live to this location? If you live fairly close you may want to go back to that location on a bright sunny day and try again?

I live in Chicago - so going back is not an option!

Was there a cloud deck across the sun, but not in the picture? It sure looks muted. I think I see a cloud shadow on the mountain, too. The first picture looks better as far as lighting goes.

The water should be level, so the whole river doesn't drain .

Here is 4 degrees of rotation, and it is still not quite enough. If the original image was cropped at all, then rotate the original, then recrop. A little contrast was added. OMG, I bet out there they wanted to see a catfash leader.

I don't think you need a lot of rotation; starting with the original image that was rejected, 1 degree of clockwise rotation seems to be all that is needed. Rather than trying to level the horizon I tried to straighten up the verticals - those containers should be straight up and down.

Sharpness of the image is more difficult. The lettering on the containers is really fuzzy and no amount of sharpening will fix that without leaving all sorts of artifacts. I also tried increasing the gamma and contrast and that helped but we're still left with the sharpness issue. If scanned from a slide, you might want to try a fresh scan.
