Default Align with the Building?

Hello again,

Would you align with something different than vertical edge of the red painted building behind the FXE loco?

Cheers

Aligning with the vertical/plumb line of a building is generally a good way to level a photo...but don't try it in Pisa, Italy, or a dilapidated shed that's falling down!

It actually looks plumb to me using the verts of the buildings and light poles, etc., but the bridge gives an unlevel illusion and doesn't help the fact that the locos are on a curve and may be slightly canted. Curious for other opinions on this one.

Weird.

When I zoom way in, the right side especially the upper corner on the right is off about .5 to .75 CCW, but the left side is pretty near level throughout. I guess it could be some lens related distortion. I'm not familiar with the Nikon lenses well enough to say. The photo was taken @ 72mm... what lens was it?

I would throw this shot in photoshop and do some perspective adjustments on the right side, and you should be good to go.

Default Lense is a Nikon 55-200

Thanks Lloyd and all

The lense is a Nikon 55-200. I'll play around with the image and if needed just slightly rotate CCW

Thanks

That shot is closer to perfectly level than probably 50% of the shots in the database!

Wink

I think what the reviewer may be looking at is the lack of sky on the left. The hill, Denver ain't flat ...

Agreed. THE worst unlevel rejection that's ever been posted here.

Now the bridge support and the building on the left are leaning slightly to the left.

Either way, it still looks fine, Buf.
