Where did the blue and silver NS Unit Pic Go?
There was a neat image from NS of a rebuilt Dash 9 in blue and silver. It has since vanished.
Anyone know what happened?

The image has been removed from all official NS social media outlets. The reason is to be determined.

My first impression when I saw the photo was that it looked like a CSX variant. Maybe someone in NS management had a similar thought.

To me it seemed more like a way to get in D&H colors while CP still owns the trademarks.
Some unofficial pictures can still be found on Facebook.
Rumor has it that the unit has returned to the paint booth.

Mike Ray on the NSdash9 Facebook page still has a shot of it that he took and says it's the #4001 that is in the paint booth and that the #4000 is still in the yard. There's a lot of rumors of copyright issues with the CP over the suggested similarity to the D&H. I believe folks might be mixing up copyright when they mean trademark, but I don't either is the issue.
I was told the shots were posted before they actually should have been perhaps due to the grainy cell phone shot that was leaked. I also suspect they wanted to debut the 4000 and 4001 at the same time.

I can't find the Mike Ray post right now. Not sure if I was wrong on where I saw it or if he took the post down. It was a reply to someone who claimed it was back in the paint booth... And I can't find that post either

Day and night shots of "AC44C6M" #4000 are there as of 5:30 PM EST. Save quick while you can. Sort of like D&H's pseudo-Santa Fe bluebonnets IMO.
Oddly, there is a PR43C #4000 as well. Renumbering going on?

I suspect you are seeing a cached version of the site. The shots are gone

I was reading comments trying to figure out why it was yanked and I kept seeing comments suggesting that the paint scheme was out there for sometime but the blue was suppose to be black. But I cant imagine how you could make that type of error on this. I guess we will see in the coming days.

I'm looking forward to seeing what happens. I'm starting to think it might look a bit different when we see it again. Black instead of blue makes sense but the blue looks good

As it says on that page, that's not an NS site and the photograph was taken by Mike Ray, not an official NS photo

The NS official night shot was still there (in a comment) at 5:30, but it seems to be gone now.

I've certainly heard that, and I'm nowhere near NS lines.

Looked nothing like anything D&H, that cant be the reason. First thing I thought was similar to YN2 CSX paint, a little

First time in my life. Then again, I'm not a foamer. It must be foamer vernacular.

I had to look it up myself. Apparently it has to do with the AC unit on the top of Dash 9-40Cs. In NS black it looks like a top hat.
Learn something new every day. I shoved the Pythagorean theorem out of my brain to make room for this one.

That's a new one for me and I live in the heart of the CSX/NS North Jersey terminal.

It's probably some fake vernacular that employees say near railfans to make them think it's company speak so they can laugh at them when they say it on the outside...
