Opinions vary. In my view, any article about the future of passenger rail service in the US which does not once use the word "freight" is not worth the cheap newsprint it is printed on.

Sure, it's interesting to see a pro-passenger rail article, but one cannot even tell from that article that there are non-Amtrak entities that own most of the nation's inter-city trackage! It's a lousy introduction to the topic, one I fear that represents the sum of knowledge of many of our elected officials.
