Question Obstructing Objects ??

This got hit for Obstructing Objects (Foreground Clutter),although I'm not sure how the people in the shot would take to being refered to as "clutter"!!
Actually the whole point of the shot was the people in it,and their concentration on the train,so the foreground clutter is an essential part of the shot - any thoughts ?

Appeal and explain that? The lead loco is placed perfectly between the heads...perhaps it's the guy's head on the right in front of the first two tank cars that the screener thought was the obstruction. I'm actually surprised it didn't get his with a PEQ for the distracting bald spot.

Also explain that this particular freight working holds cult status in the UK as one of very few workings to reliably still produce a Class 60 and that it always draws a large crowd of photographers.

I looked at the photo and a Rogaine pop-up ad appeared.

It works but the heads are taking up to much of the photo is what got it, Still a nice shot, you did well but not what they wanted. Retry the shot, if you can do it with out getting run over.

I think there's too many backs of heads in that shot to be asthetically pleasing. It's more PEQ to me that clutter, even though either would apply to my thinking.

Also..that one guy obviously wasn't shooting with a Canon...that right there knocks it out of contention for acceptance!!

Perhaps shot from another stop, so the people are smaller compared to the train?

RP doesn't like shots like this, never has. I had a shot similar to this a few years back, and it never got on. Never understand the acceptance of streak shots and shots where the train is 7 miles away, but not shots like this, but it's RPs stance, so we have to deal with it.

If those were female heads, you can damn well bet it would have been accepted.

Well no doubt. And it would be a PC award winner even if you couldn't see their faces because females=easy views on RP.

Exactly. It'd be well on it's way for a Top two of last week and a PCA by now.
