Getting the Lighting Right!!

It seems that my biggest problem I have with getting pictures rejected is because of lighting conditions. First the pictures were too light and too many shadows. Now this picture is too dark. So what am I to do? First, is there anything I can do to improve this picture? Second, any tips on how to deal with lighting.

This picture...nothing you can do.

Others though...what camera/equipment are you using? Is the camera on 'Auto' mode or are you shooting in some sort of manual mode where you set either the shutter speed and aperture or some combination of both?

As a general light rule, you need to be between the sun and your subject. In other words, if your shadow is pointing towards what you're shooting, you have good lighting for RP.

Camera Make = NIKON
Camera Model = COOLPIX L810
Exposure Time (1 / Shutter Speed) = 10/15000 second ===> 1/1500 second ===> 0.00067 second
Lens F-Number / F-Stop = 31/10 ===> ƒ/3.1
ISO Speed Ratings = 80
xposure Program = normal program ?

Looks like it was shot on cloudy day.
