Default Junk shot of a rare engine

Yesterday I ran into the illusive NRE 3600HP genset out on the IHB. This was its first time out on a revenue run after spending nearly 2 years at NRE being tested and having its software tweaked.

I uploaded a pretty average side shot, and it was rejected for being unlevel.

Is a shot like this worth fixing since it is not represented on this site?

From time to time RP has shown a willingness to loosen the requirements for early shots of a rare or new locomotive. Its hard to say with this one, because like you noticed, its a pretty bad shot. I guess the 'unlevel' rejection as oppose to 'front-couple' or 'bad motive' is a good sign. But with that being said, the next screener could easily slap one of the death knell rejections on it. Is the unit going to be running regularly now? If so, I would just wait for a better chance to shoot it.

Its hard to say. They might be using it as a loaner for warranty repair since they have 6 axle gens to begin with. Now I'm stuck in the middle of 6 day streak at work and wont be able to go back to find it. I'll try to level and leave a note for the screener.

A front coupled roster would probably be accepted but this isnt even a good roster, the giant pylons growing out of the unit and all the dead space at the top is not helping your case.
Looks here how to do rosters right

I'd put it on RRPA and hope for a better shot op down the road sometime.

Its built on an old UP SD40-2 frame and looks like some half assed dash 8 with two blisters. Ill just call it a 2 slice toaster Im not sure how popular these would be. A genset with the power of an SD45? Might as well just buy a 45 and save yourself a million or two dollars. That is if you arent trying to have the government pay you to take your smokers off the rails like the IHB.

I think the verdict for this will be try again next week. Hopefully it sticks around and they let it lead.

The paint job is horrible, but I actually like the carbody. Pretty clean lines and proportionate. I'd rather shoot that then any Dash or Gevo series locomotive.

I think there are too many issues, even with it really being the definition of rare power.

If you're not a member, you'll probably only get a thumbnail, but here's a clean shot of it.
