Default Contrast and Bad Cropping

I am looking for advice on how to improve these two images. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

In both cases, more contrast. If you are using PS, go to levels and get the histogram stretched out.

The Amtrak, I'd also crop a bit from the right - but nice shot! The WMSR is not level, get your verticals vertical, a bit of counter clockwise rotation.

Love the WMSR shot. If you have a looser frame, that would look even better.

1st one looks underexposed. Nice composition though.
Now with Flickr!
