Default Anyone Tried Quitting RP?

Or is it like Stan Halen's KZN: once you're in, you're in forever?

I had to find the passage back to the place I was before

You can check out any time you like but you can never leave"

Quitting and doing what? Basket weaving, perhaps?

Why would I quit? They post my pictures, and people even look at them sometimes!

I once talked with Chris Starnes (hope I spelled that right) about one reason I haven't posted anything yet. I like having control over my own images. I would like things set up so I could add a few and then delete a few every month or so. As is, I can't do that--I have no control. He said I could also email him and he would do it for me. I think he meant well, but in practice how well would that work? He's obviously a busy guy. And, why not give the poster the option to delete their own stuff if they want to?

It's easy. Just email them and ask them to pull your images and they'll do it. I needed mine pulled a couple months back, emailed them, and it was done in a couple hours. No fuss or pushback at all from admins.

I am new but what I see it is an ebb and flow as I watch who is submitting. Taking a break is a good thing. Also having other outlets is good. I submit images to a monthly local Art show and to museums shows as well as other rail related outlets. If I am working on making prints I will lay off other things. Now the weather is breaking and we have a large public parks tennis group and I will have another activity to be frustrated at.

It's not a big thick door to pass through, Bob! Not something to "quit", in my view. Just something fun to do, or not; something rewarding to do, or not; something that helps one with one's photography, or not; something that exposes one's photography to others, or not.

Hmmm. So they have allowed some member to leave with their images in the past, that is heartening. There is something scary about not have a delete control over your photos in the database. There really should be one. You might need to delete an image that could cause trouble for someone involved in what it depicts and you want to get that off the web...for example.

Sorry again for misunderstanding, my view is you don't "quit". But Sometimes it is good step away for a break do something else for a while and come back refreshed. Then if you lost interest well it is not a matter of quitting as such.

My name isn't Bob. I'm SFO777!

I just want to make sure I can quit if I want to, get my photos off the web if I so chose. This is nothing against RP, but I believe in the right to choose.

Basket weaving could be fun. But I think you should stick with train pictures, you seem pretty good at it

Don't you want a cut of the profits though that your ample and excellently endowed photos have so famously helped create for the people who have the final say over what photos you are allowed to share with people here?

I've posted one photo in the last year and do not plan on doing it anytime soon.

I feel quite fine.

Troy you seem like a cool guy. What do you do for fun to round things out outside the whirlwind that is RP?

Did you ever try to quit RP? Who did you email?

When I decide to "quit", I just don't come around, I am sure there are a few that enjoy that

I email Chris or Chris using the contact us email when I want to remove shots that I no longer love. They knock it out within the day.

Apparently, most of his free time is spent dreaming up ways to humiliate his cat.
