"Bad Color" Help!

Hey guys,

I know this shot isn't the greatest thing I probably could've come up with, but it is the most recent that has fit almost all of the Railpictures.net standards I can think of. The only thing it lacks is a good angle and apparently "Bad color." To me, I thought it would get the boot for being underexposed. But bad color was the reject. Shot was taken at 9:15 am so it wouldn't have had "high sun" either. Anyways, let me stop rambling about it and post it!

well for me..

the sun is on the opposite side of the locomotives, causing shadows on the body, and lacking definition of the trucks..

and it does appear the yellow on the engines is off, which I suspect is where the bad color came from..

next time make sure the sun is behind you, and go from there..

I honestly don't see anything you can do to make this one RP worthy though.. sorry

I see what you mean about the sun, maybe it just wasn't high enough in the sky at that time. The sun was actually directly on the nose of the locomotive, with some light wrapping around the sides, but probably not enough - I remember having a similar problem back in January with an AC60CW photo.
