Ah, yes. Slightly confused myself as 'Engine Type' is a point here. My point though, is that if Kent really doesn't want to bother with that info, I think leaving it blank on the submission page results in the 'unknown' entries.
The point many of you are making is still good, of course -- Usually no big deal to get the info, and better to include it when possible.

That's not true on Locomotive Type. You can't leave that one blank. You can choose "Other" but then have to type something in the box even if it's "ND Diesel."
I would guess, however, knowing railfans, that would result in some, shall we say, "strident responses."

When uploading, you must choose one of the items on the pull down menu, or pick "other."
Having selected "other" allows you to enter information in the other box.
That is how you can get "unknown" in there, or diesel etc.

I've tried uploading a shot a few more times the past week, but keep getting "file not found". I tried uploading from both my hard drive and an SD card. This isn't the only forum I've had some trouble uploading to (but others no problem.) Is something on my computer set wrong? Is my anti-virus removing cookies maybe?

Hmm. Not sure what's going on, though that sounds like a computer issue on your end.
If no better suggestions come up, maybe trying the upload while on the phone with someone on the Forum, to follow along step by step, will shed more light.

Do you have any special characters in the file name? That will prevent a photo from uploading. I forget what the message is, but if you have an @, *, & etc. in the file name, it will be a no go.

As Dan said, no special characters, no long file names, no large files and *.jpg files work the best.

Yes, Indecline is right. I hit that snag once or twice. Make sure your file name has only letters and/or numbers in it.
