Default Maybe a bug in photo submission software

Hi rail-fans,

Since few weeks, I have seen that the submitted pictures are "washed", the contrast and colors saturation are lower as the original picture...
I have a lot of picture where the rejected reason was "photo washed"...
I apply a RailPictures.Net 'watermark' for all my pictures, is it this function who not works ?

An example:
Right picture is original sorted of my editing software and left one is the picture published on RPN.

Any ideas ?
Daniel.

Interesting. I usually get the opposite. The photos I have submitted in the past often looked more saturated. However, I haven't submitted anything in six weeks, so maybe that has changed.

Seems I notice some differences but never determined a pattern, ie I always look at the photo in the que after I submit and sometime think I have to go back. What is the description they give for photo washed, never have gotten that one???

Watermarks do next to nothing to prevent "theft", yet their presence degrades the viewing experience. Kind of like spray-painting the Mona Lisa [hyperbole].

You are right, the original does have better color & contrast. Did you save the original as Adobe color space? I would bet RPnet converts to sRGB.

2 examples of rejected pictures for whashed reason:

http://www.railpictures.net/viewreje...09&key=4877239

http://www.railpictures.net/viewreje...04&key=7881456

The complete message was: - Contrast (Low): The contrast (relative difference between light/dark areas) is too low, making the image look washed out.

Anyway, Pictures colours in submission form are always modified each time I try to post a picture...

Maybe a "cloudy" rejection would have been more appropriate.
