Default This just seems off

I just can't seem to get the color right on the image I'm attaching. It came out underexposed from the camera and brightening it makes it seem off. This version has been rotated, downsized, and sharpened, but has had no color or contrast modifications. If somebody could please help get it right or instruct me how to get it right I would appreciate it.

Thanks.

Mark, thanks for the tips. I'll have a go at it again.
