Well, I can't comment on the subject of the thread, the first two, I find the ballast especially well on the crispy side. The final one, the sky does seem oversaturated, especaily for low altitude. I have no particular comments on unlevel.

Try coming back a few minutes later for a shot like this:

or find a more "legitimate" animal...

As for unlevel - I have my people at the Standards Bureau working on it.
Maybe they want that antenna way to the right to be at 90° vrs your 89.99° degrees.
As for color balance - go into PS and tap "Autocolor" and see what happens. I'm gonna guess by comparison, yours will look off, but I haven't tried it myself.

I can't believe you actually submitted that. When I saw it on fb, I thought it was just a joke photo.

Looks like the majority of the rejections are valid in my eyes (especially the unlevel ones)

You composed the avian shot all wrong. I don't know what your creative intentions were, but it's just not suitable material for this site. It's too edgy, too anti-establishment. If you had framed it so the bird was coming into the frame, I'm sure that they would gladly accept it as a patriotic rendering of the American dream.

You know, as I started reading your comment my eyes started to roll and I sort of had the WTF feeling, then I continued on and a hearty guffaw ensued.
Well done Sir!

No joke.
I am always trying to get this site to move out of the well beaten tracks of the wedgie - mostly because I don't enjoy looking at them, and they are not that challenging to take.
Case in point, the hub shot had over 600 views on the first day it was up and was 1st runner up for the top 4 of 24.
 | PhotoID: 421124 Photograph © EL ROCO Photography |
While yesterdays submission will be lucky if it breaks 250 for the day.
 | PhotoID: 421471 Photograph © EL ROCO Photography |
It appears to me that the number of daily followers on this site is off by at least 400 per day, since one can get in the top 2 for 24 with a mere 600-800 views.
Before, one would need well over 1000 to breath that rarefied air.

First time in my life I've heard of the word "avian," let alone used to refer to a bird.

Those Metrolink cab cars are as ugly as homemade sin. That alone should get a rejection. Take a close up of a piss ant walking across the rails or something like that instead...

Maybe its me, but the over sharpened one looks perfectly sharp, about the noise/grain reject, I see a little noise on the wheel sets of the tank cars, but I don't see how its excessive.
