Amen!!! Don't worry, we all have weak moments. I'm with you, I find Amtrak nearly as exciting as watching a block of ice melt on a cold day.

Well since I started this thread, my average has jumped from 174.92 to 194.85, though my average photo coming in at 195 views is exactly what I would consider average for me these days...

(yawn) I actually spruced this shot up considerably since I learned how to use photoshop better, but I haven't decided on replacing this one with it yet.
I'd like to get my average views above the Mendoza Line eventually, though.

I know this is dredging up an old thread, but it's been two years since the original post and I was curious to see what my 'average' stuff is today.
I went from 192.30 to 207.18 to 468.65 where it stands as of this typing. Here are the two shots at my average:
From Dec '05:
 | PhotoID: 128235 Photograph © Chris Paulhamus |
From Jul '07:
 | PhotoID: 192593 Photograph © Chris Paulhamus |
In two years, my average has more than doubled, which is pretty remarkable. I certainly don't take credit for the jump, but rather it's a testament to the growing popularity of RP and the number of people stopping by and checking out the photos. I've noticed that in the past that 100 views was a semi-reliable mark to tell if your photo was 'made it', but it looks like the 200-300 view range is a better indicator today...

I posted in this thread earlier, but since my photo and view totals went up a lot since then, I thought I'd post my updated numbers.
My average views per photo is about 415, with this shot coming closest to that view total.

I don't have one that's at 523, but I have one at 526 (doesn't look level, does it?) | PhotoID: Photograph © |

I have currently 95 photos with an average of 637 views per photo. Getting a PC award on one helped the average a bit.
How can this be right though?
CN-Yahoo (P.J. Cadieux) 345 total photos, 1,078,394 total views with 3,125.78 average views per photo.
Alot of average looking photos with views in the thousands!

Because he probably hotlinked his shots to a bunch of mailing lists. All of the photos were posted before the 'detailed stats' feature was implemented, so the referring websites won't show up.

I've got around 580 views per photo on average but that's going to change after tomorrows uploads. Here's my average one now.
 | PhotoID: Photograph © |
By the way, it's surprising how much your average viewcount rises when you get a photo of the day or a 2000 view shot. I've got a couple heavy hitters pulling up my average.

I only have 20 photos in the database as of today, with a huge difference in highest views to lowest views. Highest being around 4400 and lowest at 161! So my average is 729 and I don't have any with that number exactly so here are the closest two:

Doubtful that mailing lists will do that. I hotlink the hell out of my photos and they don't see his numbers. I think he might visit his pictures one time a day or something.
