Default Locomotive help

how do i tell what train model i have a picture of? is there a site for it?

Well there are a few ways you could do this.

One is to look at a particular RR site that has rosters for the road that unit is from. Match the number up and it should tell you what type the locomotive is that carries that number.

You could also get a book on locomotive identification and compare to what you've got.

Finally, you could always post it here and see if anyone can tell you what it is.

Type in whatever roster you are looking for, and you will usually find what you are looking for.

Or you could do a search on the mainpage of RP.net and see if it is in the database.

Now that you can enter road no.s, the database right here is easier. Select the railroad and the locomotive number. This should point you in the right direction.
