Default People's Choise?

I see Brooke Baxter got the Peoples Choice this week with her fantastic photo. It got me wondering, how do you vote for peoples choice? I cant seem to find a link to click or anything like that?

Cheers......HB.

No, no, it's not a PCA, it's a photo of the week. I had the very same question and couldn't find the answer.

True, looks like the OP asked the wrong question

I assume photo of the week is chosen by the screeners

Yes, but how is it related to screener's choice?

Speaking of People's Choice...how come it shows up randomly under photos? Sometimes when I WANT to a vote a picture as a PC, the link isn't there. Other times it is. What gives?

A Screeners Choice is a picture a screener thinks is especially nice. I'm guessing there can be an unlimited number of SCs a week or even none for a month. A POTW is one picture every week picked by either an admin or two or voted on in some way by all the admins and screeners.

There's only a certain amount of time that any one picture can be voted on for a People's Choice. I guess there is a week when voting is open, but if you get a shot in on that last day, then you've had six fewer days than others to get voted on.

At least that's what I think it is.

Jim is right, I've viewed recent shots where there was no peoples choice option but when I went back later the option was there. Since the web site has been having a bunch of other problems lately, I'm guessing something is corrupted somewhere. It may be reading your cookies incorrectly and when you close your browser and come back later, it's a different cookie and you get a different result.

Older shots aren't eligible for people's choice awards. This shot I just uploaded today has a link:

But this one is too old, so it does not have a link:

Did I explain clearly enough?

I think it would be best for someone behind the scenes to officially explain but after looking at all of these features for awhile I think I understand most of it.

Photo of the Week (POTW) - Generally changes about once a week. I am unsure about how exactly this image is selected, but it is done behind the scenes.

Top 2 of Yesterday/ Last Week. (POTD) - 2 Most viewed photos of the last day and 7 days. This is determined by the system.

Screener's Choice (SC) - Selected by a screener to be added into this select category.

People's Choice Awards - Selected by viewers. Each photo must be uploaded in a certain week period beginning on Monday. I bit more complicated to understand when exactly a photo receives this link but it is not when it is first uploaded.

Like Carl said it may be due to time "running out" to vote (the two weeks have passed that the photo is eligible). OR there was/is some way that the nomination link disappears, I believe it happens when the photo in question is open for an extended period of time. I tried doing an experiment last night but I don't think the link was open long enough. I'll try again latre, hope this clears some things up.

Actually, I was referring to current images....like when I'm looking through the most recent photos from the last day or so. Sorry I didn't explain myself clearly the first time.

Lol ... I would have probably written the same thing that Louis did. I would have no clue why very recently placed images wouldn't have a button. I know that you can't nominate your own images, but they still have a button. When you click on them you get a message saying "sorry, you can't nominate your own images". I guess by saying that I admit that I have tried to before.
