Default Centered nose in a portrait format (bad cropping)

On this one, I was trying to show the snow covered track, it got rejected for bad cropping.. How could I correct it without removing the mood of the picture? BTW, the original picuture is bigger than this so I've got some headrom to play around... Thanks. http://www.railpictures.net/viewreje...d=616312&key=0

I have had a reject like this before, I would say go more vertical on the crop its a little too tight on the top, the bottom could use some room as well. Something like this.

Thumbs up

Thanks guys, while keeping the emphasis on the track, I opened up the picture, especially on the top... result: accepted in the database.

Wink

Thanks Jim I had a hell of a time getting the snow out of the lens, the wind was blowing towards me... and it's a good thing I took many shots as 75% of them has a giant snow flake hiding part of the loco!

I've been looking at your avatar for quite a while and I think I got it figured out... Could it come from the Wii console? Those little characters you can create and look like you? They're called Mii... A-ha! My daughters created one for me and I must admit, the resemblance is striking!

I love to shoot in the winter, preferably when it's snowing hard, so I know how that is. I even created a custom extended lens hood so can I shoot during blizzards and not get snow on the lens.

Yes, you can create your own Mii online and save it as a jpg. And yes, that does look just like me. haha
