Default My 50th and a reject

Hello Everyone,

Finally got my 50th photo in today!

And with it a rejection...anything I can do to fix it. Probably will never be able to reshoot as by the time I would be able to ask permission to get on the property the unit will be in chunks in a gondola.

Rejected Image

Thanks,
-Jim

awesome shots both of them, congrats on your 50th!
As for the reject, try removing some grain from the dark side of the nose, theres not alot overall but that seems to be a grainy spot, this definetly should have a spot in the database, its such a shame a new Alco like that is being scrapped

I agree they are both great shots.

There is a little too much grain on the scrapping shot. You might consider reprocessing to reduce that. There may not be anything you can do about the lighting, however I think an appeal might be considered since it is unlikely this shot can be taken again as the unit is old/being scrapped.

I do find it funny the dark side of the front has most of it's parts removed (lights, number boards, handrails) while the light side has them still intact.

I did find another photo that I took before that rejected photo...

And got another rejection. Only a small bit of the nose is showing in this photo, so I didn't feel like it was ruining the photo. I personally liked how the lines on the road lead your eyes right to the train.

Rejected Photo #2

Thanks,
Jim

For the first rejection, I'd say don't bother...there's already a very similar shot in the database (EDIT: this was written before your edit):

For the second reject, it looks like the direct side light will continue to be a killer. FWIW, I would have shot a second or so earlier to keep the nose of the unit away from the far crossbucks and the plow off of the curb...as it stands now, it's a little jumbled.
