The man loves his monster.

The real purpose of this thread is to pose the question, how many of you have a good friend or two who works on the inside? Maybe it's coincidence that AJB is one of the best (in my opinion) in our hobby. I've learned almost everything I know from him.

Yes, but I don't photograph them unless they want me to, or unless I can do it in such a manner as it is not obvious.

Seems everyone is much happier that way.

I only know a few, and hardly anyone on the mainline. It's hard to meet people when they're doing 40 with 10 thousand feet behind them past you.

I got a buddy that works for the railroad!.....

I didn't take the photo, so here's the link to it, with the full story: http://www.flickr.com/photos/chicago...n/photostream/

The picture shows him bringing a train into Bensenville. I've ran into him once before. One time he was switching in Sturtevant with a road train and as I approaching the power from a public road, he got on the radio and told me via my scanner to please not take his picture. I was informed of the dude's name from another railroad employee. He keeps giving all these railfans the bird...except me. I think he realizes who I am and the fact that I know these other employees. Last time this looser passed me, he dimmed the ditchlights (they think it ruins our photographs...) and put his head down, facing away from me.
